How to arrive to the Island:

From Salvador's International Airport it is necessesary to take a taxi to the Mercado Modelo ("Model Market") in front of which is the Pier where catamaras leave to Morro de São Paulo. They usually leave at 1:30 pm and 2:00 pm and tickets cost aproximately R$ 55,00 per person. Trip time to Morro is around two hours. The cheapest way to arrive to Morro is by Ferry Boat; travel time is about 1 hour but new ships cover the way in 25 minutes. Both kind of ships have an extended time schedule

By the morning there are two other ships coming to Morro: this is a stroll boat that can transport 20 persons; they leave from Salvador's pier at 8:30 am and 9:00 am. Tickets coast around R$ 50.00 per person. Navigation time is around 2 hours. Take your camera on your hands to take some pictures of São Marcelo Fortress and Barra's Port and the whole pier and you will have beautiful postcards from
Salvador.

.: By Air:
This is a quick and expensive way to arrive to Morro. There are two companies -Aerostar and Addey- that offer flights on single or twin engines planes with capacity for 6 till 12 persons. They depart from Salvador's Int'l Airport and land at Morro after a 25 minutes flight. Aerostar tickets coast R$ 148,00 and it lands near the 4th beach; transportation is offer until the 2nd beach where some guides can show you the way to your inn

along the whole day, since 5:00 am until midnight (for more information call to COMAB (71) 319-2890/2800). Ships leave from Salvador's Maritime Terminal, close to São Joaquim Fair and go to Bom Despacho (Itaparica Island). Once there, two bus companies -Camurugipe and Expresso- cover the way to Valença
in 2 hours time.

Addey lands on Caeira Farm, at he 3rd beach; ticket R$ 145,00. Flights also arrive in 25 minutes and planes can transport just 6 passengers. Flights schedule are from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm from Salvador to Morro (in summer they fly until 5:00 pm) and from Morro to Salvador since 8:00 am till 4:00 pm. From the plane you will have a sight of the Island; and if you want you can ask the pilot to give you a ride before landing to take some pictures of the Island.

In Valença's pier you will find many ships to arrive to Morro: quick boats coast R$ 10,00 (R$ 12,00 on sundays and holidays) and arrive in 30 minutes and line ships coast R$ 4,00 (R$ 5,00 on sundays and holidays) and get to Morro in two hours time. They offer an extended departure since 7:30 am until 5:00 pm from Valença to Morro and from 6:30 am until 5:00 pm from Morro to Valença -one line ship per hour, both ways-. The whole trip costs between R$ 20,00 and R$ 25,00 and it takes 4 hou time to arrive to Morro.
